The Past Week

Well, i just had a reallllllll good week.

I started my FIRST ever job in paperchase in Paperchase (in borders). It is the so much fun. Met a great bunch of people at work already. Everyone is so nice and very chatty and helpful when u mess up...though ive not even really messed up. only once...but that was my fault really...the cash machine froze and i needed to call a manager that was all.
What else has happened...... Oh yeah. The other day there was a delivery and there was 4 pallets of stock. I got to help unload a couple of them, open the boxes and see what stuff needed put in the store room and what stuff needed put out onto the shop floor. Anywayz, stuff that needed put out were put into plastic boxes and once they were full we'd take them up to the shop floor and put everything out. It was really great kos you got to learn where everything is...tho its kinda hard to rememebr when they chop and change everything.

Anywayz, the other day just before my shift started Alice Cooper was in Borders. I was gutted i missed him. I'm not a fan of his or anything but it still woulda been kinda kool to see him.

Dont think I have much else to say really....

Update....

Well, at Church today I got pulled up by Liz for not writing in my blog (haha, just kidding)...so here it goes.

It might be long kos i'll have loads to say or it might e short has I have forgotten most stuff...also might be mixed up chronologically too.

1. I had a talk for uni on Tuesday. I have doing these things. I get so nervous becaus eyou see the person who is marking you's reaction straight away. Whereas with an essay you just had it in and they write down whether or not its good. So I was so nervous when i got up to do it. butasi started it was ok. people kept cumin in late so i got to have a wee stop every so often. people thought it'd get on my nerves or throw me off but it didnt really bother me. Also one of these wee people who check everyone is in the right room came in and thought i was the lecturer which was funny. so i got a minute break because of that to.
The Lecturer said something like "that was a good insight into...." blah blah blah. I hear you ask what my talk was about. A very exciting topic i must say. My task was to: "assess the effectiveness of law enforcement in the 18th century"

2. Also, woohoo. i got my first job ever. paperchase in borders. im so excited i cant wait. would be fun. i love love love that place. i hope i get a good wee discount aswell as in borders.

3. Jeeze I thought i had loads to tell but evidently i dont at this moment in time....

4. Oh aye. It's my good friend Chris's birthday soon and next weekend all the 2nd year Criminologists are gunna be living it up in East Kilbride. I'll have to keep everyone in check as i am not he drinker of the group. Unfortunately I will be missing church tho next weekend then (sorry! lol). Should be a good laugh. Last time when e all went out for pub golf we seemed to have bonded quite a bit so hopefully this will be the same. I think Meghan will help me find a nice East Kilbride boy..i think thats guna be hard im told.. Haha...just kidding people!!! My meeting of East Kilbride people has actually been quite good. two of my best friends are from there so its all good.

5. Oh yeah. Lets get to my laptop. I'll try and start from the beginning and make it as shoort as i can. Right, so i got a laptop for my birthday in June. So, everything was going fine untill one day it just wouldnt switch on. so i had to send it away. then i got it back and there were scratches all over it. not only that but when i tured it on it said Advent instead of Philips. Moreover, it was then saying that my Norton Antivirus was out of date after like 4 months even tho it was a Year long subscription. I sooooo wasn't happy. So it got shipped off again and then it came back with a new lid and the lid had a big whole in it. this was because, i assume, they just put any old cover on it and they picked out the name from the cover. so i wasnt happy about this and in short i managed to get a new one. He is a Toshiba and He's called LouLou Jnr but Jnr for short.
Me and Gill are arranging a play date for Jnr and Doonny soon. Just as friends tho mind.

6. I just heard Leona Lewis's new song Bleeding Love, and I have to say i really like it. Its good that she took the time out to get great songs that suited her than doing what most of the winners of these shows do and churn our cover after cover. Funny thing is is that i didnt really rate her when she was in teh X-Factor so she has converted me into being a fan.

7. I keep remembering things. The FAB Lee Evans is going on tour nxt year and hopefully i shall get tickets to go too THE WORLDS FUNNIEST COMEDIAN!!!! I think his Live in Scotland and his XL tour is his absolute best. He's actually a great singer. he does the comedy songs at the end of his acts and i think his live in Scotland one is s ooo funny.

8. OMG! I cannae believe i nearly forgot to tell you all about this. Well i went to the Rangers vs. Barcelona game. Anywayz, guess who half time guest was...go on....take a guess....a wild stab in the dark.... Yup! You guessed it! The Best Defender Rangers has seen! The best captain they' ve had too. The LEGEND that is Lorenzo Amoruso! My friends Gill and Al work for Rock Steady so they both got to see him up close. When i was on my way to the game Gill txtd me to tell me and also al txtd me during the game before half time. So, when half time came i was going mental. I was a one was choir singing "There's One Amoruso". it was brilliant. he was bowing to everyone and i was screaming. Yeah, ok, i turn into a big girl when Amo is around. but i am a proper footy fan otherwise. i dont go just for the cute men in shorts....thats just a bonus!
Anywayz, my dad's two mates and one of his friends went out in glasgow after the game and wel to a bar ( i think it was hte All Bar One bar place) and who do they sit beside the WHOLE NIGHT but none other than LORENZO AMORUSO! I was gutted when i found out. so jealous! He's getting some serious stalkin done against him next year in Italy. Haha.. First Stop- His Restaurant in Florence!

I think that's all i have tosay at the moment but if i have anything else to say dont worry i'll try my best to update it!

p.s. I seriously reccommend you watch: Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, Heroes and Without A Trace.

Rab....

Me and My Dad (Rab) go to every Glasgow Rangers home game as we are Season Ticket holders.

Well, what does Rab do but FORGET THE TICKETS to the Rangers vs Aberdeen game!!!

How stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We ended up having to go to the ticket office to get replacement tickets which cost £5 each, so we had to pay £10 altogether.

I don't think I'll ever let him live it down, LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Was a good game, glad we didn't miss it!

The Tech Guys : Update 5#

WELL!

My laptop is getting taken away AGAIN to get fixed. There are three things wrong with it.

1. It says "Advent" when I turn it on even though it's a Philips Freevents.
2. My Norton Anti-Virus is telling me its out of date after 3 months into my one year contract
and
3. There are scratches along the side of it.

So, I have to give it back to get repaired AGAIN!

DO NOT USE THE TECH GUYS IF POSSIBLE!!!!

The Tech Guys : Update 4#

I just want to say that THE TECH GUYS are possibly the dumbest people EVER!!!

In The Tech Guys : Update 3# I said how I called the today asking what was wrong with Luigi (LouLou) and they said that if I called back on Monday then they would prolly have a report saying what was wrong with it etc. HOWEVER, about 30 minutes later who turns up at my door but parceline with my LUIGI THE LAPTOP fixed and ready to be used!!!

What a but of idiots the tech guys are!!!! HAHA!

The only good thing that may come out of this is they may not realise that i have this laptop and they might send me a free new one!!!! Haha!!

Rachael xxxx

The Tech Guys : Update 3#

I bet everyone can guess what I am about to say.... The Tech Guys STILL DON'T KNOW what is wrong with my laptop. It has been over 3 weeks since they have had it and they still can't tell me what's up with it!

I called about 5 minutes ago to ask if they knew what was up and they told me that they had sent an email to the engineer(s) and they are looking at it at the moment and that if I phone back on TUESDAY they MIGHT be able to tell me what's up with it.

Is it just me or is this really unacceptable?!?! I mean 3 weeks to fix a laptop! Well, actually it doesn't count as 3 weeks to them because they don't work weekends. But still it's really annoying that they can't tell me whats wrong with it. I would, perhaps, understand it taking so long if they were waiting for parts or something like that but they, as far as I can tell, haven't even looked at it or can tell me whats wrong with it.

I'm told if they can't fix it within 28days then they'll give me a new laptop. I wish they'd just get it over and done with and give me the new one!!!!

The Tech Guys : Update 2#

Yeah, well, phoned AGAIN todya to ask what is going on and they STILL CANNOT tell me whats up with my laptop.

I doubt anyone has even looked at it, even tho they say they have.

I am getting really frustrated it has been two weeks since they have had it and they cant tell me what is wrong with it....IM SO ANGRY!!

They said that if they cannot fix it within 28 days they'll give me a new one of the same or a better one which is orite but I would rather have my laptop!!!

The Tech Guys : Update...

Well having had no luck myself Rab (my paw) called The Tech Guys to see what was going on with my laptop.

He was supposed to get a call back from one of the engineers and, guess what..., they never called him back. Now there's a surprise!!!

Tech Guys are RUBBISH!!!!

That's my poor Luigi been away for two weeks and still they haven't told me whats wrong with it...barin in mind they only looked at it after 10 days of having it!!!

I AM NOT AMUSED!!!

However, I think they just said that to keep me happy because ont he phone I said "it's been ten days and I still haven't heard anything" so they musta said this so as? I dont make a complaint or whatever....

Well I will be calling tomorrow to see whats happening!!!

Here's a tralier for it:

Rachael xxxx

p.s. go read my post below this one about my poor Luigi!!

Not Happy At ALL!!!

As I said before I sent away my laptop to get repaired by the TechGuys may i say how completely crap they actually are! Utter b.....well i won't finish that but they are bbbaaaaaaaaaaad!

I sent away Luigi 8 days ago yet when i phoned up for an update on how he was doing, want to hear what they said? Do ya??? They said "we are still waiting for an engineer to look at it". I was like "are you kidding me?....no they were not!

ALSO, they told me when I first phoned up about Luigi being ill they said that it would take 10-14 days to get back and even at that i thought it was long but i accpeted - what else could I do?? So when i phoned i was like "its been away a week blah, blah, blah and you told me it would be away for a max of 14 days". ANOTHER shock to me came when they chnaged their story and said "well thats what we try and do....it could take up to 28 days".

Let it be safe to say I AM NOT HAPPY I AM ACTUALLY PEEEEEED AFFFF!!!!

Somebody *cough*gillba*cough* said go a bit bush and they'll do it faster. But I don't think i should go mad a poor call centre man. Fair enoguh if it was the actual engineer I was talkin to but the call centre guy just reads whats on the screen.

Rant over...

Disastrous Performance @ VMA's

Here's Britney's performance at the VMA's yesteday:

I think this was awful. I feel sorry for her. She needs to get help or stay out of the limelight for a while and just get her life back together. I know you can take what the papers say with a pinch of salt but she seems to be going out every night and not caring about her children. Go out once in a while but don't dump the kids you had on someone else, right? She sure won't get custody of her kids if she continues like this.

R.I.P Pavarotti

Opera great Pavarotti dead at 71

ROME (AFP) —
Opera legend Luciano Pavarotti, whose glorious tenor voice, showmanship and crossover celebrity turned him into a global superstar, died Thursday at his home in Italy at the age of 71.

Hailed by many as the greatest tenor of his generation, Pavarotti passed away during the night at his villa near the northern city of Modena after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

"His condition progressively worsened up to this morning," said Antonio Frassoldati, one of the star's team of doctors. "He was always totally conscious of the situation, he always sought to fight the disease ... and he was very calm."

The funeral will be held at Modena Cathedral on Saturday, said the city's mayor Giorgio Pighi.
Pavarotti -- known in his prime for the clarity of his voice and ability to hit high Cs with ease -- broke into the opera world when he won a competition in 1961.

He went on to perform across Europe before crossing the Atlantic in 1965 for a production of Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor" in Miami, co-starring famed Australian soprano Joan Sutherland as Lucia.

It was with Sutherland in February 1972 that Pavarotti took London's Covent Garden and the New York Metropolitan Opera by storm with a sparkling production of a Donizetti favourite, "La Fille du Regiment".

"Luciano Pavarotti was one of the finest singers of our time," the Royal Opera House in London said in a statement.

"He had a unique ability to touch people with the emotional and brilliant quality of his voice. He was a man with the common touch and the most extraordinary gift. He will be truly missed by millions," the statement said.

To the shock of some classical music purists, the larger than life singer extended his appeal far beyond the operatic world, collaborating with pop musicians like Sting and U2's Bono.

In 1991, a crowd of 150,000, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, braved the rain and cold in London's Hyde Park to hear him sing.

The previous year Pavarotti hit an even wider audience when his performance of the aria "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's "Turandot" was chosen as the theme music for football's 1990 World Cup finals, held in his native Italy.

He sung Nessun Dorma during his last major performance, at the opening of the Winter Olympics in Turin in February 2006.

Among his best-known initiatives in recent years were his appearances with two other leading singers, Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo, known as the "Three Tenors", and the annual "Pavarotti and Friends" concerts in Modena.

Carreras mourned the loss of a "great artist," friend, cook and formidable card player.
"The best memories are the ones in intimacy," the Spanish tenor said. "He was a very good friend for his friends and a great poker player."

As news of his death spread, the Opera House in Vienna raised a black flag of mourning and other stars from the world of opera and beyond were quick to pay tribute.
Sutherland told BBC radio that there was "no question" that Pavarotti's unique voice ranked him among opera's greats.

"It was incredible to stand next to it and sing along with it," the 80-year-old Australian star, nicknamed "La Stupenda", said.

"The quality of the sound was quite different -- you knew immediately it was Luciano singing."
She added that she had seen Pavarotti recently and he was "not the same person at all".
Italian film director Franco Zeffirelli said: "There were tenors and then there was Pavarotti," adding: "It is thanks to Luciano Pavarotti that the culture of opera spread to new generations."
Pavarotti's success also attracted the attention of the society columns.

He left his wife Adua in 1996 after 35 years of marriage and three grown-up daughters for his secretary Nicoletta Mantovani, whom he married in 2003, and with whom he had one child.
Since undergoing surgery for cancer in 2006, Pavarotti had at least five rounds of chemotherapy. He was hospitalised again on August 8 with a fever, and was discharged more than two weeks later after a battery of tests.

This summer, during a ceremony in honour of the singer on the island of Ischia near Naples, Mantovani said Pavarotti had been feeling well and was preparing a new album.
Early Wednesday, Pavarotti had expressed his pride at being the first to receive a new "cultural excellence" prize in Italy.

He said he was "full of emotion and gratitude ... because it gives me the opportunity to continue to celebrate the magic of a life spent in the service of art."

The death of Pavarotti is the second to rock the opera world in recent months. Acclaimed American soprano Beverly Sills died of cancer at her New York home in July. She was 78.
Japanese conductor Seiji Ozawa, music director of the Vienna State Opera, said he was "shocked and very sad" at the loss of a great friend and singer.

"His tenor was so distinguished that I could immediately recognise it whenever I heard his songs at places like restaurants," Ozawa said.

Tributes also poured in from the political world, with Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi mourning the loss of "a very great voice of the musical world and of Italy."

French President Nicolas Sarkozy said Pavarotti had "seduced the entire world" and defended the singer's decision to sometimes stray far from the traditional operatic repertoire.

"Via the marriage of styles, this great tenor brought ever greater audiences over to classical music," Sarkozy said.

Paris Hilton....

I was thinking. Did anyone see that interview with Paris Hilton on Larry King? Well in it she was saying how she read the Bible everyday and in my opinion i think it's a load of rubbish. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh but she couldn't even quote a passage. I dont mean like word for word, I mean say Mark 1:1-12 or whatever. But i dont read my Bible every day and I can tell you my fave passage, she was in there 23 days or something! (Paris Interview see about 7 mins 10 seconds into the interview)
I know this is a bit late coming but better late than never!
Here's my fave passage:

Mark 5:21-44
(New International Version) New International Version (NIV) Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by
International Bible Society
A Dead Girl and a Sick Woman

21When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. 22Then one of the synagogue rulers, named Jairus, came there. Seeing Jesus, he fell at his feet 23and pleaded earnestly with him, "My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live." 24So Jesus went with him. A large crowd followed and pressed around him. 25And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28because she thought, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed." 29Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. 30At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, "Who touched my clothes?" 31"You see the people crowding against you," his disciples answered, "and yet you can ask, 'Who touched me?' " 32But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering." 35While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. "Your daughter is dead," they said. "Why bother the teacher any more?" 36Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, "Don't be afraid; just believe." 37He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. 38When they came to the home of the synagogue ruler, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. 39He went in and said to them, "Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep." 40But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child's father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. 41He took her by the hand and said to her, "Talitha koum!" (which means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!" ). 42Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. 43He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.

Laptop Update...

First of all me and Gillba have decided that my Laptop should be called Luigi. Well, I got the name from a random generator ( Name Generator ) and we thoguht it sounded good. It's whole name is Luigi Dragomir but we can just call him Luigi...a nice we friend for Donny, eh?!?!

Now that thats over I'll go on to write about what this blog was actually supposed to be about.
Luigi got picked up today by a very nice wee man. he settled him into his nice pink box and carted him off. I dunno how a pink box will go down with a boy laptop but oh well he's just guna have to deal with it. Haha. It wasn't just a cardboard box it was a big plastic thing with stuff and the rest inside it. I was well impressed.
So hopefully he'll be back soon...not the two weeks like they said it might take.

My Poor Laptop Is Not Well

Yeah it's my displeasure to tell you all that my laptop is broken.
I dont have a scooby dooby doo what happened to it but it's not going on. It was working one morning and then in the afternoon it would go on and turn off then it wouldn't go on at all.

I called PC World and they are cumin to pick it up to take it to Nottingham to get it fixed and it takes 10-14 days to get it back....so it takes them a week to pick it up then two weeks to get it fixed...sake.
You'd think they'd have somewhere in Scotland to get it fixed, right?!?! Wrong. The guy ont he phone said it takes two days to get down there...JEEZE!

So many things have gone wrong with this stupid laptop and im not happy...i know there are worse things in the world but it still sucks.

Jesus Walks - Kanye West

"Jesus Walks"

Yo, We at war

We at war with terrorism, racism, and most of all we at war with ourselves
(Jesus Walks)
God show me the way because the Devil trying to break me down
(Jesus Walks with me) with me, with me, with me [fades]

You know what the Midwest is?
Young & Restless
Where restless might snatch your necklace
And next these might jack your Lexus
Somebody tell these who Kanye West is
I walk through the valley of the Chi where death is
Top floor the view alone will leave you breathless Uhhhh!
Try to catch it Uhhhh! It's kinda hard hard
Getting choked by the detectives yeah yeah now check the method
They be asking us questions, harass and arrest us
Saying "we eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast"
Huh? Yall eat pieces of shit? What's the basis? We ain't going nowhere but got suits and cases
A trunk full of coke rental car from Avis
My momma used to say only Jesus can save us
Well momma I know I act a foolBut I'll be gone 'til November I got packs to move I Hope

[Hook x2]
(Jesus Walks)
God show me the way because the Devil trying to break me down
(Jesus Walks with me)
The only thing that that I pray is that my feet don't fail me now
(Jesus Walks)
And I don't think there is nothing I can do now to right my wrongs
(Jesus Walks with me)
I want to talk to God but I'm afraid because we ain't spoke in so long

To the hustlers, killers, murderers, drug dealers even the strippers
(Jesus walks with them)
To the victims of Welfare for we living in hell here hell yeah
(Jesus walks with them)
Now hear ye hear ye want to see Thee more clearlyI know he hear me when my feet get weary
Cause we're the almost nearly extinct
We rappers are role models we rap we don't think
I ain't here to argue about his facial features
Or here to convert atheists into believers
I'm just trying to say the way school need teachers
The way Kathie Lee needed Regis that's the way I need Jesus
So here go my single dog radio needs this
They say you can rap about anything except for Jesus
That means guns, sex, lies, video tapes
But if I talk about God my record won't get played Huh?
Well let this take away from my spins
Which will probably take away from my ends
Then I hope this take away from my sins
And bring the day that I'm dreaming about
Next time I'm in the club everybody screaming out

(Jesus Walks)
God show me the way because the devil trying to break me down
(Jesus Walks)
The only thing that that I pray is that my feet don't fail me now
(Jesus Walks)
And I don't thing there's nothing I can do now to right my wrongs
(Jesus walks with me... fades)
I want to talk to God but I'm afraid because we ain't spoke in so long

Pictionary is like the funnest game ever! My team won the first round and then next round the other team won...tho we did switch people about in the teams.
The decider in the last game was absolutely hilarious koz everyone was getting dead pumped up and people were shouting and jumping about, AMAZING!!!

Singstar was f.a.f aswell. I sang first and then went on to sing about three more...and yes i lost everytime! And I thought i was a good singer..booooo!!

It took me a while to get a hang of the Wiii but it was so much fun after that.

Great night!

Amazingly Jean Claude Darcheville scored twice in like 5 mins.....

Loadsa people leavin 10 minutes to go so they missed those two plus another one!

My exam...

It went OK...I had complete brain farts where I couldn't think what to write and then it would pop into my head and therefore in the end I had to rush.

I pretty much wrote everything I wanted to...I think but probably not in the best English i could have...

I have so much stuff to look forward to. I can't wait to start helping at Youth Groups again. It's so much fun. Also I think I get to go to court again with Uni to see how the criminal justice process works or something like that...but i'm not too sure about that.

Went out with me Uni mates after the exam and it was good to see everyone. I can't wait to get back and see everyone all the time.

Tomorrow I'm watching footy - Rangers vs Falkirk - and then I'm going out with Gillba to parteee...they better play good moosik at Red!

Bed and Breakfast In Italy

If anyone is looking for a Bed and Breakfast in Italy about half an hour away from La Spezia then check out my friends' B&B in Castiglione Vara: http://www.lacascinadianna.it/
"...people find it far easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right. "

J.K. Rowling

This is so true. I don't particularly remember a time when this has happened to me or anything but i'm in no doubt it has!

Forgive and forget that's what i try to live by! And i think it's a good philosophy too! (is that the right word???)

Blood Diamond

I recommend that everyone should go and see this. I doubt it's in the cinema now, but rent or buy it! You won't be sorry!!

Here's a bit about it:

A story following Archer, a man tortured by his roots. With a strong survival instinct, he has made himself a key player in the business of conflict diamonds. Political unrest is rampant in Sierra Leone as people fight tooth for tooth. Upon meeting Solomon, and the beautiful Maddy, Archer's life changes forever as he is given a chance to make peace with the war around him.

In 1999, in Sierra Leone, the fisherman Solomon Vandy dreams on the day that his young son Dia Vandy will become a doctor. His dreams are shattered when the rebels invade his village and kidnap him to work in the diamond mines. Solomon
finds a huge pink diamond and while hiding it, the commandant of the rebels sees, but the rebels are attacked and Salomon is arrested by the government army. While in jail, the wounded commandant tell the prisoners that Salomon found the stone, and the mercenary smuggler Danny Archer from Zimbabwe releases Salomon and proposes to exchange the diamond by his missing family. Using the idealistic American journalist Maddy Bowen, Danny locates the wife and daughters of Salomon in a refugee camp, but is informed that his son has been recruited by the rebels. Salomon and Danny consolidate a partnership, with Salomon looking for and finding his son, and Danny looking for the diamond and finding redemption.

Set against the backdrop of civil war and chaos in 1990's Sierra Leone, Blood Diamond is the story of Danny Archer - an ex mercenary from Zimbabwe - and Solomon Vandy - a Mende fisherman. Both men are African, but their histories as different as any can be, until their fates become joined in a common quest to recover a rare pink diamond that can transform their lives. While in prison for smuggling, Archer learns that Solomon - who was taken from his family and forced to work in the diamond fields - has found and hidden the extraordinary rough stone. With the help of Maddy Bowen, an American journalist whose idealism is tempered by a deepening connection with Archer, the two men embark on a trek through rebel territory, a journey that could save Solomon's family and give Archer the second chance he thought he would never have.

August 12th

When i became too old to go to Sunday school club Mettle the Church gave me a wee book with passages, some from the bible and some from authors and other famous people.

There is a sayin or passage for every day of the year and i thought i'd share today's with you!

The huge dome of the sky is of
all things sensuously perceived the most like
infinity. When God made space and worlds that
move in space, and clothed our world with air,
and gave us such eyes and such imaginations as
those we have, He knew what the sky would
mean to us.... We cannot be certain that this
was not indeed one of the cheif purposes
for which Nature was created.
